Whose house (besides your own) were you in last and why?

View 501 Answers

The last house I was in was... *thinks* oh man, I think the last time I was at someones house was my boyfriend Mike's. He wanted to make a lobster dinner for the two of us so he and I went on over to Zehrs and picked up a fresh lobster. We had fun playing with it, named it Louis, then stuck him in a nice big pot of boiling water.
I think he knew what was coming to him because he stuck his claws out and attempted to 'push' his way back out of the water.
I kept my distance away from the thing cause I just wanted to eat it, I wasn't interested in the death, but Mike freaked out because he saw its eyes turn marble white.
Louis didn't scream (myth about lobsters). Though he gave us the evil eye.
The evil.
Eye.

At this moment I feel a little weird. I think i'm starting to feel guilty for not doing anything. There is nothing to do but Halo, go on the computer, or read my halo books (again).
Since last September i've sat on my butt and pretty much done nothing, though I can't totally be blamed.

First off, I live in Canada, and this winter was extreamely shitty, so I was basically never outside thanks to that.
Second; my friends are busy with school and work, and if I hang out with my boyfriend too much I feel a little guilty. Which, I don't understand why I would feel guilty when I only see him twice in a 7 day week. Not really a lot since usually teen couples see each other every blooming day.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Last reason; I have to gain weight for a surgical procedure on my upper and lower jaws. I would go into detail, but I would rather do that closer to the time. I'm not entirely ready to share what must be done. It's not a big deal anyway. So basically exercise means lose weight, unless I do uuber amounts of sit ups and gain more muscle.
I'll probably feel better tomorrow when I get up in the morning, it's usually at night when I start to feel this way and after a nights rest, i'm fine again.

No this is not PMS talking.
and Sudzy my cat is pestering me, I think it's time I sleep ^_^;

... and he just ate something off my carpet.
If I still feel shitty tomorrow i'm going to clean my room, cause it's been bugging me lately. More specifically my bed. I'm not the one for cleaning, but my stupid duvet cover attracts cat hair and dust like a magnet, so I brush it down, and a day later there are little fluffs on it again.
ANNOYING.
Plus, the blankets are pulled out from under the matress, which bugs me because I lose my sense of security when sleeping, I just feel better when the blankets are tight around me.
OK going now, going to brush my teeth, then bed tiem woot!

Car Accident

Current Mood: calm
Well, yesterday my best friend Kirsty and I decided to hang out! She's always busy with work now that she too, is out of school, so it was nice to just chillax. I drove us over to the neighboring small city where we hit up Walmart to get awesome sauce iPOD cases, which I also ended up grabbing a huge ass box of butter popcorn cause I love that stuff.

When we got back into town, we went to the highschool so we could wait for our friend and so Kirsty could clean out her locker. After a small visit with everyone at lunch we headed out for a bite to eat. Kirsty and my friend Eulalia couldn't decide where to eat so I decided to park downtown, and from there we could walk around and decide.

I enter a parking lot only to find all spaces were taken so instead of backing up baround the entire parkinglot (no room to turn around), naturally I would just take the other exit. Unfortunately the other exit opened up onto the busy main street. Normally it's not a problem when you go out this way, but there were cars parked to either side of me so I couldn't see the f'cking road. I sat there for awhile saying to Kirsty and Eulalia how I don't feel comfortable just pulling out. So of course, I inched and inched forward to keep trying to get a clear view.

My view was still obstructed but I could see a little bit better and it looked clear so I went. There was a black cavalier to my left and judging from her distance and how much of my car was on the road I floored it hoping, just hoping I would get lucky. Well I didn't, and she hit me. I slammed on the breaks and after quickly shutting off the car I slapped my hands to my face.
Honestly, the first thing that came to mind was 'I just trashed the car, we can't afford another one.'

I kept my composure and got out of the car, the other girl, probably only 20 years of age told me I have to come out of the parking lot slowly (even though I was crawling to get out). So Kirsty and Eulalia got out I whipped around and went into the parking lot I just previously attempted to get out of.

When I saw the damage I mentally freaked out, but the more I looked at it the more I realized it could have been worse. Had I not accelerated the way I did, her car probably would have hit between the driver and rear passenger door, if that were the case my mom and I wouldn't be able to afford the fix.

I grabbed an accident sheet thing I had in the glove compartment and started filling shit out as the other girl called her dad and some other random people. The mood lightened and I was relieved to find the other car had a mere scratch that was hardly noticeable on the front end. No one was hurt, though I was appalled to find out that the passenger of the other car (who I happen to know) was pregnant and smoking. She admitted she usually has a smoke a day. I hope her baby will be ok.

Kirsty used my cell and called her dad, and when he arrived, he assessed the situation and got a hold of the cops. By this point I had already texted my boyfriend Mike, and he was on his way.

Time was going so slow for me, so so slow. I was focused on keeping my composure because I wasn't about to break down in front of everyone, i'm not known to cry. I was also thinking about money and how my mom was going to react, which trust me, it's something to be scared about.

So the cop came got both our stories, Mike arrived soon after, and while I didn't go straight to him right away, I was glad he was there. All in all it took pretty much and hour to settle, but it felt like three, and plus my toes felt like they were going to fall off cause it was so cold.

From there I headed home like a pup with its tail between its legs. Funny enough my mother was walking down the street. She was on the right side of the car so she couldn't see the damage, and I was going to try and pick her up but decided just to go back to the apartment and wait. While I sat with my Large french vanilla cappuccino from Tim Horton's (Mike bought it for me to keep me warm : ) ), I finally broke down and wept/hyper ventilated for a good ten minutes. Then called my dad and spoke to him about it. He wasn't mad, he's never mad at me and told me everything is ok and it made me feel better. That's when my mom finally got home and saw the damage.

I stayed in the car and watched her, kinda like a human staying in the car to avoid the lion. She walked away and that's when I followed her. At first she thought it was someone else's fault because i'm a good, careful driver, and even when she found out it was technically my fault she wasn't extremely mad.

We got everything sorted out. I was slapped with an 'Improper Left Turn' ticket, despite the elements against me. I'm going to head in to the court and plead guilty with an explanation in hopes of getting the pay dropped. I'll still  lose/gain? demerit points though.

Here's the thing, and i'm not saying it's the other girls fault, i'm just pointing this out.
The speed limit is 40 because it's residential and downtown all in one street, though she admitted to going 50, she also admitted that she didn't see me at first and it wasn't until last minute she slammed on the breaks and skidded into me.
She just admitted to not paying attention.

People park on the road all the time down this street and it's extremely busy all the time, having a tim hortons there doesn't help. I think she should have known better and slowed down once she got to this area 'cause when silly people like me pull out, you gotta be prepared.

I was in the wrong because I crossed traffic, but that doesn't make her perfect, nor does it make me a bad driver.
Accidents happen.

Valentine's Day

Posted on 2008.02.14 at 22:52
If you're an  anti-valentines day type of person then bugger off.
This mushy journal is not for you   : )
BUT! If overall you enjoy reading my stuff and would like an amusing story that really isn't that mushy at all, then please, read on.

So my boyfriend had let me know weeks in advance that before Valentine's day, he would need my apartment keys. Fair enough, his scheming mind was at woooork.
"Don't think about it!" he would tell me, though I did. Of course I did. I could have let my mind dwell on his scheming plans, but I had other important things to think about, like; what was I going to get him?
To all those guys out there; it's very hard to shop for you. Like seriously. Well at least for me anyway cause I like to avoid cliche stuffed animals with I love you hearts and their beady eyes staring into your soul as their makers make billions of dollars. Anyway! I also had to think about Valentine's day dinner because I decided I wanted to have a go at making him something, since he's cooked for me on many occasions. Anyway, it wasn't until a couple days before that special day I figured out everything! Wheee!
What did I get him? What did I make him for dinner? *gasp* you'll just have to read on... or, just like, scroll through and find it.

So finally it's Valentine's Day morning. I woke up early cause I was like, egh bathroom, and when I went to bed I kept staring at the clock thinking about it. Finally I managed to get back in a deep sleep, n' next thing I know I hear a little rustle, I feel my bed sink and a familiar cheery voice say, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
It's awesome to wake up to him : )
Anyway after my morning stretch, I find gift #1 on the back of my card and it was small heart floating candles which were so cute! Then I went to open up gift #2 n' I find myself looking at a nice bunch of red roses. I love red roses cause they sport the deep red colour I love, plus they smell nice and look beautiful. HAH!and Live Journal tells me I spelt colour wrong... I canadian muthafookar! Back on topic.
Gift # 3 had me curious cause it was a large tube like shape. I had no idea what it was, and when I opened it up, a Dave Matthews Band ticket came out! Though it wasn't a real ticket I quickly realized cause only one came out and then I pulled the second item out of this tubular object, and a Dave Matthews band poster came out. It's so awesome and I totally didn't expect it at all!
Though at this point his gift wasn't ready yet so! he had to waaaait.

At 1:00, my dad, mom and I went out for lunch, which was nice. Then while mom went to her dentist appointment, I got a few extra things for Mike. Mom didn't come home until close to 4, the dinner I chose to make takes 45 minutes (or so martha stewart says) and I was like agh we need to get dessert made too!
My mom and I started on dinner which was pork tenderloin and apple stew, and for dessert, it was going to be homemade mousse but since we ran out of time it had to be made from a box *sad face*
Mike arrived a little after 5:00 and dinner still had  about 15 minutes to go, so I decided to give him his gift! Which is kinda amusing cause I realized I had no tape so my mom used glue to wrap it. So anywhoz, I gave my giftie to Mike and when he opened it, he got glue on his fingers, haaaah man, and flipped the gift over to see it was a picture of him and I together in a perdy black frame. I wanted a basic black frame so it wouldn't take up much room on his side table. Honestly there are picture frames for the 4 x whatever size, but the frame itself is 7 inches wide. WTF people?
I also had a chocolate rose and a small bag of candy hearts to go along with this perdy-black-simple-cool-cute picture frame :D

Finally dinner was ready! Overall it was pretty good, tasted alright though I was expecting more from it. I wanted to make a spectacular dinner for Mike but hey, it doesn't always work that way when you try something new. I used 7 of the floating candle hearts because we've been together for 7 months (technically 6 and two weeks but I wasn't about to be exact n' cut a candle), and we had a small glass of white wine to go along with it. Dessert was alright, though i'm sure it woulda been better if it were homemade.
This was my best Valentines Day ever.

Now for the other adventure! You don't have to read this but hey, it's here for your enjoyment.
My friend calls me up and tells me that she had gotten her boyfriend a couple gifts, but when she gave it to him he wasn't pleased because he didn't get her anything. I felt so bad for her because typically on V-Day, couples exchange gifts to show their appreciation to each other. Well Mike gets the bright idea to go out and get her a couple little things and a card to make her feel better!
That. was. awesome.
Mike and I were on an adventure! 'Course it was put on paused cause just as we were about to head off my mom tells us to take down the garbage. Turns out if we hadn't of thrown out the garbage, Mike wouldn't have done this piece of art on someones car  : 3

I think this story is long enough, so basically we made mah friend happier n' she was like yay! n' then after hanging out for a bit longer, I took Mike home. Now we await the next day we get to see each other!

Paintballing

More like 'Confessions of a Nub at Paintballing'

So, Friday February the 1st was a good day to start off the month. My boyfriend, Mike, had organized a paint ball trip with his friends. I was allowed to bring my best friend Kirsty because while I know his friends and feel comfortable with them, at least I had someone there who I knew really well.
The day didn't start off too well because there was a snow storm that hit and a few people called saying they would try to make it , but couldn't promise anything. Plus, Mike and I were going to have Bawls as a substitute for milk when eating Trix cereal, but we couldn't find any Trix! and when I went to pick up the Bawls in the morning, they were all out! So I got Redbull and Lucky Charms. We didn't really want to eat with that combination so we decided to stick with charms n' milk. Was still pretty good XD

I drove to Kitchener and really the roads weren't so bad. The trip was fine until I tried to turn from an intersection and there was a lot of mushy snow on the street and my car slid, I slammed on the breaks and slid to a stop merely inches from the curb. I've already bent the wheel before from a similar situation, i'm so glad it didn't happen again (my mother would have pulled a 'I told you so' when I got home).

When we arrived, Mike's good friend Jeff was already there, but he had left super early, which was good because it turned out Google Maps didn't give the right directions. We went in, signed the forms (I had to sign for a lot of other people who were under 18) and got ourselves prepared for some good ol' Paintballing action.

I failed to mention that I have never been paintballing before and for two weeks i've been worried. Though I wasn't worried about the sting of the paintball, oh no, I could handle that, it was the fact that my boyfriend is 6' 4, decked out in full camo, vest, black sweater and an AK47 metal-wood replica paintball gun, and for me it was a bit scary. Though really, I think I feared his aim the most.

It was nice that we had both the rec ball and speed ball arena to ourselves, we had reserved it a week in advance, and it was good there were 16 of us too otherwise there would have been a risk of being under numbers. Anyway, we had a few practice rounds, I did hit my best friend (sorry Kirsty!) on the first round, most rounds I didn't get out at all. A lot of times the adrenalin is pumping so much you don't even realize whether you hit someone or not. I mean if your whole team is firing, how are you to know if you made a hit?
No one came up to tell me I hit them, but my boyfriend heard about it. Managed to piss one guy off a bit because aparently I got him twice, but he cooled off pretty fast. It's all in the game!

Mike did really well, and was gutsy too. There was an attack/defend round and my team was defending this boxed in turf area, and mikes team was attacking. Most his team stayed back, but he rushed our team from the side and took out two of our players that have played before... basically our pros XD though thankfully he got taken down during that run cause if he got behind us we would have been screwed. He was good at speedball too, using 'The snake' and 'Right Dorito' as cover as he ducked and weaved taking people out. On my last round of speedball he came up from the side and took out Spencer, he didn't know I was there too n' I probably fired three or four balls at him but they ALL BOUNCED! He hit me in the finger and it hurt so bad. I was pissed, though not at him, more pissed at the pain in my finger. Again, it's all in the game, you sign up for it, expect a bit of pain.

My best round was when I was playing speedball and as far as I knew it was only myself and Joel left on the field and I knew it was only Jeff on the other team. He was hiding behind the 'popcan' in the corner so I decided I wanted to take a run for him. I wasn't stupid about it though, I still hid behind cover as I made my advance. Finally I ran up and pelted him, I knew he had shot at me but it didn't matter whether they broke or not cause I got him first. N' they broke baby. My team was proud of me, n' i'm not trying to boast about this, it was just cool to pull a stunt like that when you're new at this sorta thing.

I tried that stunt earlier in recball, but Joel saw me coming last minute and when I jumped out, I managed to hit him (again, balls didn't break) and he managed to hit me on the crotch. Not as painful as one might think, helps that i'm a girl of course. My favourite game had to be the medic game just cause I couldn't really rely on my shooting skills that much, but being 5' 0" I could get to a lot of places without exposing myself.

Overall I had a great day with everyone, and I was so so happy that my boyfriend had such a great time with his friends. He hadn't been paint balling for awhile and to see him in his element, it was really cool.

Like the mask mark on my forehead? Totally awesome. At one point a paintball hit my mask and went through the breathing holes and cut my nose. The paint didn't taste very good.

Well, for you Halo fans out there, i'm sure you all heard they were making a Halo movie. Well, unfortunately it's been put on hold since money is a big issue. Yea yea, we know that already, but! the special effects studio have been keeping themselves busy.

"Yeah, the Halo movie's on a long, unpaid vacation, but that doesn't mean Peter Jackson's WETA special effects studio have been sitting on their collective asses. They've already made a bunch of weapons and props for the film, and with the project doing naught but gathering dust, they figured they may as well send some over to Bungie, let them have a go. Here, you can see the results. Sure, Master Chief is handy with a pistol, but could he ever rock a sweater like that? No. No he could not."

That my friends, is a long ass gun.
