If you're an anti-valentines day type of person then bugger off.
This mushy journal is not for you : )
BUT! If overall you enjoy reading my stuff and would like an amusing story that really isn't that mushy at all, then please, read on.
So my boyfriend had let me know weeks in advance that before Valentine's day, he would need my apartment keys. Fair enough, his scheming mind was at woooork.
"Don't think about it!" he would tell me, though I did. Of course I did. I could have let my mind dwell on his scheming plans, but I had other important things to think about, like; what was I going to get him?
To all those guys out there; it's very hard to shop for you. Like seriously. Well at least for me anyway cause I like to avoid cliche stuffed animals with I love you hearts and their beady eyes staring into your soul as their makers make billions of dollars. Anyway! I also had to think about Valentine's day dinner because I decided I wanted to have a go at making him something, since he's cooked for me on many occasions. Anyway, it wasn't until a couple days before that special day I figured out everything! Wheee!
What did I get him? What did I make him for dinner? *gasp* you'll just have to read on... or, just like, scroll through and find it.
So finally it's Valentine's Day morning. I woke up early cause I was like, egh bathroom, and when I went to bed I kept staring at the clock thinking about it. Finally I managed to get back in a deep sleep, n' next thing I know I hear a little rustle, I feel my bed sink and a familiar cheery voice say, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
It's awesome to wake up to him : )
Anyway after my morning stretch, I find gift #1 on the back of my card and it was small heart floating candles which were so cute! Then I went to open up gift #2 n' I find myself looking at a nice bunch of red roses. I love red roses cause they sport the deep red colour I love, plus they smell nice and look beautiful. HAH!and Live Journal tells me I spelt colour wrong... I canadian muthafookar! Back on topic.
Gift # 3 had me curious cause it was a large tube like shape. I had no idea what it was, and when I opened it up, a Dave Matthews Band ticket came out! Though it wasn't a real ticket I quickly realized cause only one came out and then I pulled the second item out of this tubular object, and a Dave Matthews band poster came out. It's so awesome and I totally didn't expect it at all!
Though at this point his gift wasn't ready yet so! he had to waaaait.
At 1:00, my dad, mom and I went out for lunch, which was nice. Then while mom went to her dentist appointment, I got a few extra things for Mike. Mom didn't come home until close to 4, the dinner I chose to make takes 45 minutes (or so martha stewart says) and I was like agh we need to get dessert made too!
My mom and I started on dinner which was pork tenderloin and apple stew, and for dessert, it was going to be homemade mousse but since we ran out of time it had to be made from a box *sad face*
Mike arrived a little after 5:00 and dinner still had about 15 minutes to go, so I decided to give him his gift! Which is kinda amusing cause I realized I had no tape so my mom used glue to wrap it. So anywhoz, I gave my giftie to Mike and when he opened it, he got glue on his fingers, haaaah man, and flipped the gift over to see it was a picture of him and I together in a perdy black frame. I wanted a basic black frame so it wouldn't take up much room on his side table. Honestly there are picture frames for the 4 x whatever size, but the frame itself is 7 inches wide. WTF people?
I also had a chocolate rose and a small bag of candy hearts to go along with this perdy-black-simple-cool-cute picture frame :D
Finally dinner was ready! Overall it was pretty good, tasted alright though I was expecting more from it. I wanted to make a spectacular dinner for Mike but hey, it doesn't always work that way when you try something new. I used 7 of the floating candle hearts because we've been together for 7 months (technically 6 and two weeks but I wasn't about to be exact n' cut a candle), and we had a small glass of white wine to go along with it. Dessert was alright, though i'm sure it woulda been better if it were homemade.
This was my best Valentines Day ever.
Now for the other adventure! You don't have to read this but hey, it's here for your enjoyment.
My friend calls me up and tells me that she had gotten her boyfriend a couple gifts, but when she gave it to him he wasn't pleased because he didn't get her anything. I felt so bad for her because typically on V-Day, couples exchange gifts to show their appreciation to each other. Well Mike gets the bright idea to go out and get her a couple little things and a card to make her feel better!
That. was. awesome.
Mike and I were on an adventure! 'Course it was put on paused cause just as we were about to head off my mom tells us to take down the garbage. Turns out if we hadn't of thrown out the garbage, Mike wouldn't have done this piece of art on someones car : 3

I think this story is long enough, so basically we made mah friend happier n' she was like yay! n' then after hanging out for a bit longer, I took Mike home. Now we await the next day we get to see each other!
